Place Value Activities

Place value helps us determine the value of numbers. Place value is very useful for students to understand. A good understanding of place value will help them as they progress in their math skills.

Every year, I find that my students need some extra practice when it comes to place value and being about to conceptualize what numbers in the millions really represent.

The Common Core Standards does require students to generalize place value understanding for multi-digit whole numbers.

These place value activities are great activities to use to practice place value using a place value chart. This activity correlates with 4.NBT.2. It includes an "I Can" poster, teacher directions, a printable color-coded place value chart activity, a printable black and white place value chart activity, a blank color-coded place value chart, a blank black and white chart, three different colored counters and an answer key.
